Too Faced’s new Em-Power Lipstick is highly pigmented, doesn’t budge

Too Faced’s new Em-Power Lipstick is highly pigmented, doesn’t budge

Too Faced, one of Sephora’s bestselling brands, launched a new Em-Power Lipstick collection today, with 12 incredibly pigmented shades and five unique liners.

The brand describes its new collection as “creamy, hydrating and long-wearing for up to 12 hours,” since the feather-resistant, non-bleeding formulation also helps to soften the appearance of lip lines.

“A bold lip has a transformative power that can immediately instill confidence, self-esteem and boss energy when you need it the most—with one swipe, Jerrod Blandino, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Too Faced, told The Post. “Lady Bold is created to take that empowering feeling to the next level by pushing technology and innovation to recreate what a lipstick could be.”

What’s more, there’s up to a 42% pigment load and a clear wax base—almost triple the pigment load of what a traditional lipstick has, per Blandino. “The result is a totally bold, empowering lipstick, with a comfortable weightless feel,” he adds.

As a lipstick aficionado, swatching shades at Sephora is one of my favorite pastimes. So, when Too Faced announced the new Em-Power collection, I had to try the gorgeous red and pink packaging for myself.

From the start, I was honestly impressed with Too Faced’s lipstick formulation. I’ve never tried any of its lipsticks — mainly because I swear by NARS’ “Raquel” Audacious Lipstick, Glossier’s “Trench” Ultralip and Too Faced’s new Lip Injection Power Plumping Liquid Lip Balm — but I’m so glad I tried the new collection.

When Too Faced says pigment, they mean pigment. This lipstick didn’t budge all day. It felt like a lip product a Hollywood star would wear because the color appeared rich and glamorous on my skin. It can definitely elevate any neutral look into a more glam one.

Also, it smells divine, just like candy. I’ve had lip products that tasted like bubblegum cough medicine and just not great. But the Em-Power line is one I don’t mind reapplying — not that I have too much, thanks to its wonderful pigment.

To help make your shopping experience more seamless, I tried five of Too Faced’s new lipsticks and five of its liners, which are coming soon.
